Applies to: Web, iPhone/iPad, Android. All roles: Owners and Admins manage the Letterloop, Contributors reply, and Readers read delivered Issues.
A Letterloop is a private-group newsletter. The person who creates it becomes the Owner. Owners and Admins invite members, choose a recurring schedule, and prepare questions or optional Sections. Each cycle becomes an Issue that Contributors can answer before its Delivery Date, then members read together.
Letterloop starts an Issue automatically from the schedule, or an Owner or Admin starts one manually.
The Issue copies its selected questions and Sections and creates reply records only for Contributors. Readers stay members of the Letterloop and receive the delivered Issue without being asked to reply.
Contributors reply before the Delivery Date. New Issues normally open seven days before delivery; there is no separate reply-window setting. Readers do not submit replies.
When the Issue is sent, Letterloop assembles the available replies and delivers it using the Letterloop's current delivery settings.
Members can read the delivered Issue on web or mobile. Comments are available when enabled; reactions are available on delivered replies and polls.
The Owner has full control of the Letterloop and can transfer ownership.
Admins help manage members, settings, questions, Sections, and Issues.
Contributors receive prompts and can submit replies.
Readers receive and read delivered Issues without being asked to contribute.
Note: A person can be a member without being a Contributor. Reply reminders go to unsubmitted Contributors, not Readers.
Choose Group for a collaborative newsletter where people contribute together. Choose From You for an Owner-led newsletter where non-owner members generally begin as Readers. Owners and Admins can still manage roles for the experience they want.
If an Issue reaches its Delivery Date with no saved or submitted Contributor replies, Letterloop deletes the empty Issue instead of delivering it and normally pauses the Letterloop. An Owner or Admin can reactivate it when the group is ready.
